About the Contributors

Mathew Gilbert



Mathew is the founder of Grace Satisfies and serves as Associate Pastor for Children and Preschool at The Church at Trace Crossing in Tupelo, Mississippi. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Mathew is currently an M.Div student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Erica, who is a stay-at-home mom to their son, Jude Adoniram. Erica serves in the children’s ministry at Trace Crossing.

Mathew is a bibliophile and a Reformed theology junkie. He loves walking alongside families as they disciple their children in the gospel. He also loves coffee and conversation, basketball and baseball. Mathew and Erica live in Tupelo, MS. Micah Russell


Micah is currently a senior at Blue Mountain College, studying Biology, Christian Ministry, and History. He attends The Church at Trace Crossing, and serves in various ministries. He currently works at Starbucks and is an aspiring professor, who plans to obtain a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical and Theological Studies, a Masters degree in Culture and Language studies, and a PhD in Culture and Worldview/Apologetics or Theology.

He is engaged to the love of his life, Mary Beth Minchin, and they will be married in November of this year. Mary Beth is a student at Blue Mountain finishing her degree in Music and Theological Studies.

Micah is an accomplished traveler (11+ countries, 46 states, and counting). He is a coffee and tea fiend, and loves pairing these wonderful things with a great book. He is a speed reader who spends the majority of his “spare money” on books. Micah loves basketball, theology, Pokemon, history, classical music, and 90’s hip hop. Avery Thorn


Avery Thorn is from Belmont, MS. He is a junior at Blue Mountain College, where he is a Biblical Studies major and a History minor. He is a member of Belmont First Baptist Church. He has a passion for preaching and studying Scripture. He is engaged to Page Rowland. Avery’s hobbies include exercising, music, politics, reading, writing, and making and enjoying coffee.

Avery plans to progress further in his studies in seminary after leaving Blue Mountain. He plans ultimately to pastor a congregation of believers.

Logan Hurley

Logan Hurley is currently a senior at the University of Kentucky, where he is pursing a B.A. in Communication and minors in Islamic Studies and Philosophy.  He is also pursuing the school’s Certified Nonprofit Professional certificate.  He is an intern for Lexington-based City for the Nations, a nonprofit devoted to encouraging and exhorting the Lexington church to greater missions concern and activity.

He hopes to one day engage a church in pastoral ministry and is eager to move on to seminary studies.  He has participated in mission trips to Panama and is currently scheduled to teach English in the Middle East during summer 2016.
