Reflections on “Slave” by John MacArthur

slaveI was going through my books the other day and I picked up Slave by Pastor MacArthur from a few years ago. I remember reading it in high school and how it wrecked my world. I was pursuing things that I thought were great. But looking back, I wasn’t honoring Christ with my life.
MacArthur’s whole point of the book is that Christ has bought you with a price. What is that price? The price of his own blood. If Jesus is your King, then he is both Lord and Master over your life. Some of us can easily quote Galatians 2:20, but do we live like Galatians 2:20. It is no longer you who live, but Christ who lives in you.

Friend, if you are a believer in Christ Jesus. That should inherently make you who you are! If one is born in the United States, they are an American. But if one is born again, believing in Christ, repenting of sin and turning to walk in newness of life. Who owns that believers life? Does he still own it? No! He is a Slave to King Jesus. But Jesus is not a Master who abuses his blood bought people, He calls them sons and daughters! If you trust in Christ, you are not getting what you deserve. If you trust in Christ, Christ got what you deserve, and you get Him!

Friend, be a slave to King Jesus. May he rule over your life. You only get one life and it will soon pass, only what is done for KING Jesus will last!
